Coordinator of Slovak analytical team

Viera Zúborová

Is a political scientist by background. She focuses her interests on issues of populism, extremism, social movements, civil society, political communication and marketing and intolerance, hate speech. Viera worked for 10 years at Trnava University on various positions (vice-dean for research and strategic projects, head of the Political Science and European Studies department, Assistant Professor). She also worked as an executive editor of the Slovak Journal of Political Science. In 2016, she became a senior research fellow at the think-tank Centre for European and North Atlantic Affairs (CENAA). In 2017 she was scholar-in-residence in the ISGAP at Oxford University and in 2010 a visiting PhD scholar at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Coordinator of Hungarian analytical team

Andrea Virág

Andrea Virág graduated in 2015 in political science from Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Law and in history from Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Humanities. Besides working as a political analyst at Republikon Institute, she teaches statistics for bachelor students as a demonstrator on the Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Social Sciences. Previously, she gained experience in the field of quantitative research through the MTA RECENS research group and University researches. Her range of interests includes the Hungarian voting behaviour and the party system – she wrote her thesis of political science on the latter. In her history thesis she analysed the 1922 Hungarian parliamentary election campaign.

Radomir Sztwiertnia

Is a political scientist from background. He worked at the Faculty of Public Policies of the Silesian University in Opava (2009–2012) and at the Faculty of Arts of the Palacký University in Olomouc (2012 –2019). He focuses on the topics of local politics and ethnic politics in Central Europe. He has experience in organisation of international conferences, seminars, and research projects among others. Since 2013 he has been actively involved in most important events of the public benefit corporation Civipolis.

Karina Veltzé

Karina Veltzé graduate of journalism and social communication, she got Bachelor’s degree on University of Gdansk and Master’s Degree on the Jagiellonian University – specialization media analysis and monitoring. Her master thesis is about political communication on imageboards. She worked as a journalist in newspaper and on-line. Now she lives in Cracow, working as a media analyst. She is interested in literary reportages, modern novels and media studies.
