Resistance: The Secret of Joy Collective Memory of Visegrad Societies

The main mission of the project is to raise awareness about individual stories, common past, reactivating memory through contemporary art, performance and media, connecting the past to the present, documenting the last witnesses, personalizing history through oral histories, creating networks and opening up public spaces for debate and mutual understanding to combat increasing nationalism, antisemitism, revisionism, racism and ethnic hatred. Our main purpose is to uncover hidden examples of heroic resistance in our common past in Central European region. The main aim is to show to younger generation the real values and attitudes of the past generation, and also their fight for their freedom, and freedom of their communities and countries. Currently we are living in the era of the internet and social media, influencing whole public, but mainly the young generation. Youth in CE is losing its ability to distinguish between the facts and half truths.

The area affected by this development is also the history and common heritage of the Visegrad countries. We assume, that the way how to fight this trend is to offer the young people the alternative, emotional, artistic and personal way of how to introduce the common history of these regions. The documentaries are very well received by the public and becoming the popular way of the active education.
