Slovakia and European Values: Formal or Real Relationship?

According to the founding treaties, the Union is founded on the values of respect for human dignity, liberty, democracy, the rule of law and respect for human rights, including minority rights, pluralism, non-discrimination, tolerance, justice, solidarity and equality between women and men.

  • To what extent are the citizens of Slovakia and its politicians identified with these values?
  • How have they manifested themselves in political practice and communication since our accession to the EU? What does the available research say and what does reality live?
  • How is society sensitive to values?
  • What speeds up and slows down this process?
