The world’s transformation happens so fast that we are no longer able to fully adapt to the new social, political, and cultural circumstances, nor to face the avalanche of the everyday massive flow of information. With the arrival of the Internet and social networks, it became even more difficult to manage the influx of information coming from innumerable sources, as well as to
check their validity. The spread of fake news and disinformation has become one of the most challenging issues of our times, having a significant impact on the social and political processes all over the world. The region of Central Europe, and Visegrad countries, in particular, are not an exception. This book provides its readers with data based on quantitative and qualitative
research which examined the behavior of Facebook users from the countries of the Visegrad Group.
The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
