Focusing on Freedom

Academic freedom in our region was never discussed, there was no public or professional debate which dealt with academic freedom with their protection or support, or the protection of people who were asking difficult or dangerous questions. To understand academic freedom and its importance in society we need to understand the core values such as academic freedom, institutional autonomy, accountability, equitable access and social responsibility. Bratislava Policy Institute, Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica and the Hanns Seidel Foundation invite you to the first year of this public and intellectual event series: Focusing on Freedom

On October 3th 2019, professional and public events (conference, public discussion, SAR Slovakia roundtable) on academic freedom will be held in various places in Banská Bystrica. CONFERENCE with the same title “FOCUSING ON FREEDOM” will take place at the Faculty of  Political Sciences and International Relations, Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica.
