The “Building Professional Capacities on the Local and Regional Level in the Fight and Prevention of Radicalisation and Extremism in Online Sphere in Slovakia” project aims to address the pressing challenge of online radicalisation and extremism by enhancing the skills and knowledge of professionals at the local, regional, and national levels in Slovakia, including law enforcement agencies (LEAs) and police forces. Recognizing the increasingly significant role of the internet in propagating extremist ideologies, the project seeks to equip key stakeholders with the tools to effectively identify, counter, and prevent online radicalisation.

Project Objectives:

  1. Capacity Building: The project aims to enhance the capabilities of professionals, including educators, social workers, community leaders, and law enforcement personnel, including LEAs and police forces, in recognizing the signs of online radicalisation and extremism.
  2. Awareness and Education: By providing training sessions, workshops, and seminars, the project intends to raise awareness about the tactics and strategies used by extremists in the online sphere. This will enable participants, including LEAs and police forces, to critically assess online content and empower them to respond effectively.
  3. Collaborative Networks: The project seeks to foster collaboration and networking among various stakeholders, including LEAs and police forces. By bringing together professionals from diverse backgrounds, it aims to create a multidisciplinary approach to countering online radicalisation.
  4. Resource Development: The project will develop a comprehensive set of resources, guidelines, and best practices that professionals, including LEAs and police forces, can use to address online radicalisation and extremism.
  5. Community Engagement: Recognizing the importance of engaging local communities, the project will emphasize the involvement of community leaders, organizations, and law enforcement agencies. This approach aims to create a bottom-up movement against online extremism.

In conclusion, the project Building Professional Capacities on the Local and Regional Level in the Fight and Prevention of Radicalisation and Extremism in Online Sphere in Slovakia is a comprehensive initiative that brings together professionals, community leaders, and law enforcement agencies to equip them with the skills and resources necessary to address the challenges posed by online radicalisation and extremism. The project aims to foster a safer and more resilient online environment in Slovakia through collaboration, education, and community engagement.
